I'll be sharing the apps I created on Replit, the vibe coding platform. I have deep experience with Bolt.ai, which is the first vibe coding platform I was introduced to. I went as far as creating multi-llm chatbots, cryptocurrency dashboards, instagram ranking dashboards, and games like Space invaders. I even created an online course on vibe coding with bolt.new. For some context I am quite technical, but I am not a developer. I don't think you need to be a developer, once you start working with payments and authentication you need to be comfortable working with API keys and some database issues.
It was now time to trying another vibe coding platform and replit seemed like the logical choice.
Getting Started - The First Draft MVP (Mockup)
It was quick to make some mockups of some familiar sites using the replicate prompt. After you enter your prompt it came up with a plan that you need to approved. After this phase it takes some to get your preview. You could try out your app and you may need to deploy it to get full functionality to test it.
Deploy and Testing Phase
I found after you got the first first draft this is where you could actually figure out which improvements were needed. For example on the content fans page I found that it didn't support video posts or messaging at the beginning. I made a list of these improvements for the next prompt.
Phase 3 - Reiterate & Test
Chances are that you didn't get the perfect app you wanted from the first prompt. This is where you could prompt your application again to improve on what needed to be fixed. I recommend focusing on one fix at a time.
Phase 4 - Manage your App and Repeat
I found that you may reach a roadblock where the AI agent won't be able to fix your issue and you may have to roll-back. If you had a simple and focused app perhaps you were able to deploy a useable version to the world. In this case after you deploy your app you need to monitor the usage of resources via their complicated dashboard. You want to make sure you don't get overcharged for usage of your app(s) so be sure to set a budget limit.
Summary
I created some exciting mockups of various apps and I couldn't quite perfect my app before hitting my budget limit. I found with bolt.new you had more tokens and prompts to give you time to get a useable app that you could deploy with the world. Repit started simple, but once I got into additional features like multi-user messaging, payments, and integrating content from cloud drives I hit a roadblocks. It gives you a lot of metric to manage per app that impacts your budget. This is where I started to get worried about going over budget and putting the app projects on hold. I would say the product is once of many to get started creating mocksup. Replit excels on it's mobile and multi-user features. It may be worth checking out alternatives such as bolt.new.
